Hawk Eye Review

This infrared coaxial remote control helicopter allow only 4 flight maneuvers: UP, DOWN, Turn Clockwise and Turn Anti-clockwise.  It requires 30 minutes of charging for flying 4-5 minutes. But it can only be took off and land on smooth surface, as it will spin before the take-off. It fly upward and rearward by raising or lowering the tail so as to change the angle of attack of the blade, so it won’t attain a high speed. Anyway, 2 Hawk Eyes can be flying at the same time. Don’t over expect it flies like a champ, but it works awesome as an indoor toys with camera. Here will go some pros and cons

Advantages

  • Cheap
  • Palm size
  • Futurism appearance
  • Durable outfit
  • Record video up to five minutes at a resolution of 320×240
  • Take few hundreds still photos at a resolution of 620×480

Drawbacks

  • Require little bit skills to capture a nice video
  • Unable to handle slight breeze
  • Infrared malfunction under strong sunlight
All in all, this one could be ranked high in 2010 X’mas gift wish list. End this with a good-ending-clip.
